Writing Prompt: How would you describe your brain?

Club Prompts

Emily Dickinson has a poem “One Need Not be a Chamber to be Haunted” – with an extended metaphor comparing someone’s mind to a haunted house (“The Brain has Corridors”). Marge Piercy has a poem “The Secretary Chant” with the lines, “My head is a badly organized file. / My head is a switchboard / where crossed lines crackle.”

What’s your brain like? The examples above are both poems, and in both of them the speaker finds the way their brain works to be a problem (to say the least). But do whatever you want with this prompt. Poem, play, story, rant? Maybe your brain isn’t a problem – maybe it’s really organized, interesting, surprising…
