As part of a Magic Grant from Smith College, Cassandra Holden (a graduate of HCC and Smith) is working with students at the Care Center to construct a mobile, pictured above, which will be installed in the Kittredge Center in mid-December.
To celebrate and participate in this project, the HCC Department of English is sponsoring a contest to select a piece of writing (a poem, an essay, a work of short fiction) about the mobile or about the mobile and its theme of alchemy.
All students are welcome to submit an entry.
The prize is $150. The winning writer may be asked to read at a reception for the artists and the mobile on December 19.
Entries should be submitted to Gail Golas in the Humanities and Fine and Performing Arts Office, DON 370, by Friday, December 7 at noon.
Questions may be directed to Prof. James Dutcher, firstname.lastname@example.org
